An advertisement made for the Indian cricket lovers. There will be a humble smile on every person’s face who understands the relation between India and cricket. This 44 second ad starts with a basic long- duration shot, which are close ups and then slowly a bigger picture is revealed. Here, a boy carries water in his palm (in a dry area) just to make the ground wet enough to insert the stump used as wickets in cricket after which the water is useless to him, his joy comes from the stump which can now pierce the ground and ergo he can finally play. This ad simply portrays that no matter the condition or the hard ship required, an Indian will always find a way to hit some sixes. Night and day does not matter to these fans. Also, the repeated emphasis on ‘Indian fans’ is deserving because the content of this ad is something which every common Indian can relate to. One of the major things is the slogan/tagline which binds everyone together “ye game hai mahaan (this game is mighty)”. Another being the fact that gully cricket is a huge thing in India. Even if a person does not play or watch cricket has seen this ad and thought of the people who used to play outside their homes. A Major demography of India knows that people often go outside on a hot sunny day to play and this ad goes a mile further, introducing an extreme arena of the same. Accompanied by a versatile song which also builds and blossoms through the ad, making it a complete package from a technical perspective. The tagline was a hit and brought 3 more ads from the same production house with the same purpose. Finding the right tagline worked nicely for the creators and they ended up with a lot of good shorts for the TV spot.
